All of our peer support mental health professionals are trained and have professional qualifications, experience as well as police checks and working with children checks.
On top of all this they each have professional indemnity insurance.
Before they are approved as a Peerhear peer support team member, they are vetted via an interview process and reference checks. We know that working in mental health comes with enormous responsibility. It is a responsibility that we take very seriously.
Amber A
Peer Counsellor
Hi I’m Amber (She/Her). I’ve accumulated lived experience in the areas of Disability, Domestic Violence, Environmental/Disaster Trauma and Bullying. Anxiety has been a companion of mine for approximately 40 years, and it often brings its friend depression along for the ride at times too. Complex PTSD moved in, back in 2009, and at times thinks it owns the place.
Kylie S
Peer Counsellor
Hi, I’m Kylie. (She/Her). I am so grateful to be here today and to be able to share my story of hope.
I have worked in the mental health sector since 2014 and know first hand the power in connection and being able to sit with someone needing support.
"When you take the time to resist judgement and instead create a safe place for someone to tell their story, and when you express how you feel, it can literally change, and in the best case save somebody's life"
Welcome to Peerhear
