What are peer support workers?

Peer support workers are trained mental health professionals who utilize what they have learnt through their own lived experience to better advise others on their personal paths to recovery. The peer support model postulates that through sharing suggestions based on their own experience, peer support workers are uniquely qualified to help others overcome a varierty of traumas, anxieties and mental illlnesses.

What are the qualifications of a Peerhear peer support worker?

All of our peer support counsellors & workers have:

  • At least 3 years experience working in mental health in peer support.
  • A Cert IV in Peer Work, Community Services, AOD or similar qualification.
  • Real lived experience with the mental health issues they advise on.

What does Peerhear do with my data?

PeerHear will never distrubute, sell or publish any personal user data with any outside business, person or organization. Period.
